Val & Langdon

One of the first rules of Wedding Photography that I came across when I decided that this is what I wanted to do for a living was that you should never shoot for family. Well, as those of you who know me know, I’m not much of a rule follower. Last weekend Erin and I attended our cousin Val’s wedding in Gettysburg and I was honored that Val & Langdon had asked me to be their photographer.

Their wedding ceremony started at 11:30 am and was held at St. Francis Xavier Church, followed by an afternoon reception at The Gettysburg Hotel. It was a bit trippy coming out of a dark dance party at 5:00 pm in the afternoon (reminded me of my days in London England, where a nightclub, fittingly called “The Church”, used to open at 12 noon on Sundays with last call at 4:30 pm). Langdon’s brothers were his best men and their speeches were pretty sweet. Not sweet in the way that Val’s sister Julie’s was, and it was, but in the “Wow!” that was a damn fine speech way (shweet). Josh’s was short and sweet and Beau’s was a little longer but full of great advice for those of us who are fighting the good fight!!

I’m sure that you’re enjoying your honeymoon in St. Lucia guys but we can’t wait to see you, share a few beers and go through your photos.

Congratulations!!

Hello Simon!

I am absolutely thrilled with our photos. When we came back from St.Lucia I was thinking that everything is finally over and then remembered one of the best parts- the pictures. I hadn’t seen ANY. What a wonderful way to remember such a beautiful day. These pictures tell the story of a day very dear to my heart. From the rehearsal to the getting ready in the morning, the ceremony and then finally (my favorite) the reception. I especially like the “irish mafia” shots of the boys behind the church. Langdon and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for your time, your generosity and for these wonderful pictures that will help us remember the day forever…
